This is another one of those things you can’t tell anyone, okay? I am going to hurry and get this over with… I have to tell someone! In fact, you might not even be enough.
Remember how I told you about Dominic and his family? …I know, I know; how could you forget? I made such a jerk out of myself! Anyway, his whole family is cute; him, his brothers (Ricardo and Jose) and his sister (who is now my very best friend) Lidia. Don’t worry; I don’t like another one of the boys. …I don’t think.
Okay, I know this is dumb; I’m sorry. I can’t help it. (Believe me, I really wish I could!) Dominic is still the one I like. In fact, he made it worse! I can see it in his eyes that he is doing his best in life and that he loves the Lord; just like me. He bore his testimony in church last Sunday. It made me cry. I think I more than like him.
Paying so much attention to Dominic, I never really noticed any of the other boys. They were just friends… but yesterday, Lidia, Rico and I were rollerblading down the hill in front of my house. (The stars were shining so bright that night!) Rico stole my hair tie. I never noticed before (until Lidia pointed it out to me) but he was always teasing me and trying to “show off”. Lidia said he liked me but I guess I didn’t really pay attention. Nobody likes me!
Anyway, I was trying to get back my hair tie and when Lidia tried to help he told her to “go away”. So, because he wouldn’t give it back (and I was afraid my hair looked a mess) I took his hat! When he tried to get his hat back he would put his arms all the way around me. He got his hat back and started teasing me with the hair tie again. He put it in his coat pocket and I went to get it back… He told me “no” 3 or 4 times; each time getting softer and closer and closer to my face …and then he kissed me!
I was shocked. I had no idea that he liked me before that night. So …I just stood there. He kissed me again then skated away then came back and kissed me again! Then Lidia came back and he finally gave me back my hair tie. Later, Rico told me not to tell Lidia but I think I am going to anyway. She is my best friend!
Today, he told me we should just be friends because he doesn’t “want any trouble with my dad”. After all, I’m only 14 and he is only 16. Now that Rico is in the picture…I wonder if I like him too.
I don’t know! Help me, PLEASE! I wish I knew who I was going to marry so I can stop thinking about these other boys all the time!
